Is Play 21 Legit?
Yes, Play 21 offers legitimate real money prizes.
While we were initially skeptical after installing Play 21 onto our mobile device due to the app’s smaller user base, we found the game quite enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the app’s integration of solitaire into classic blackjack rules.
By putting a strategic twist onto the game, Play 21 takes the luck out of this beloved card game, ultimately leaving for a more fulfilling gaming experience. Furthermore, since Skillz backs the app’s real money gaming, we felt comfortable depositing money into the Play 21.
As a refresher, Skillz is an eSports platform that we often cover here at Real Money Gamer. Skillz is a well-respected company in the gaming community due to its fair competition and secure withdrawal process. So players can rest assured that their money is in capable hands.

How Does Play 21 Work?
Play 21 works by offering an opportunity for you to connect with fellow blackjack enthusiasts through light-hearted competition for a chance to win legit cash prizes. The goal of the game is to compete against players of a similar skill level to strategically achieve the most amount of stack of 21 as possible.
However, since Play 21 has a smaller user base, playing against the same people is more common than on some of the more popular Skillz apps. The game also has a prize pool design, meaning that you must deposit money to win money on Play 21.
The app uses these deposits to create prize pools, so you will need to score within the top three players on the app to earn your profit. Remember, if you do not outscore your opponents, you will lose your entry fee, meaning you must prioritize practice Play 21.
How to Play
The goal of Play 21 is to create as many stacks of 21 as possible.
Create stacks within one of the four lanes—place cards into stacks to add points to the lane without going over 21. If you go over, you will get Busted. Lanes will be closed if you get busted twice on the same lane.
Each round is on a three-minute timer, so you must act fast. But not too fast, or you might bust. Think strategically and plan out potential combinations of cards that can get you to 21. As a reminder, number cards are worth their value, face cards are worth 10 points, and Aces are worth 1 or 11, depending on how you place them.
Pro tip: Keep at least one as a buffer in case you pull a high-value card. This is especially important because it will decrease your odds of busting.
Buffer lanes are always an excellent opportunity to earn bonus points– if you can stack 5 cards in the same lane without hitting 21, it will increase your score. Instead of the regular 500 points you get for hitting 21, you’ll receive 750 points for a stack of 5 under 21! By clearing lanes in a streak, you can also achieve a point multiplier, pushing your score further past your competition.
Before entering tournaments, it’s important to practice these different strategies and brush up on your basic addition skills to increase your chances of winning and taking home a profit.
How Much Money Can You Win on Play 21?
Speaking of profit, beginners can earn anywhere from $1 to $10 on Play 21. Since the app is smaller, there are fewer opportunities to participate in tournaments with larger prize pools.
As a reminder, to participate in these tournaments, you must deposit a cash entry fee, and since winning isn’t guaranteed, there’s a chance that you’ll lose more money than you’ll win on Play 21. However, in our experience, we found Play 21’s smaller user base to help increase our odds of winning because we consistently played against the same people and learned their techniques.
